I believe that to earn the distinction of having good "people skills" an individual must genuinely like talking with people and must also have the following qualities:  Patience, the ability to listen, have good communication skills, be understanding and non-judgmental, be fair-minded, and above all, have a good sense of humor.  I have always enjoyed talking with people. Years ago this enjoyment led me to work in the retail sales environment.  While working @ PC Club Inc. I was in contact with hundreds of people every day.  Many of these people would require me to put my "people skills" to the test.  I would often conduct "How To" clinics to groups of customers (employees as well) and I would entertain (at least try) them enough as I taught to keep their interest.  There were times when angry or distraught customers would come to me and I could nearly always diffuse their anger or anxiety by really listening to them and letting them know that I cared that they were upset.  More recently I've had to employ my "people skills" while working one-on-one with my customers here at EMPEROR REALTY INC. I encourage questions and usually end up leaving their residence quite happy knowing that not only did I resolve their issue @ hand, but I left them feeling more confident about my service.
